For the third work day, we finally had some rain and the soil was perfect for working. Here, Mike and Dan apply some muscle to some rocks.

Clearing the climbing turn was a major group effort:

Here you can see the top portion of the turn cleared, as you enter from above:

The Crew of the day: Peter, Adrianna, Penny, Clark, Dan, Mike, Ken, Eric:

On the fourth day, we had a lot to do. The plan was to finish the bench cut on the lower section, and keep on working the scree portion. The park had promised us gravel to help even up the tread in the scree section.
Here's what the upper section looked like, covered in fallen larch needles-

Chelsea and Ken work on visually widening the tread by throwing rocks down the hill. The tread didn't become any wider, but it LOOKS widers.

We finished the bench cut on the lower section below the climbing turn:

Then we tidied up the lower entry to the trail:

Ranger Rob showed up with a load of gravel for us. This was an unexpected surprise: our expectation was that the gravel was going to be dumped a half mile up the trail, on the other side of Devil's Up. Rob 4 wheeled all the way in, so all we had to do was shovel the gravel into wheelbarrows, and dump it onto the trail.

The gravel fill was dumped into the really rough spots on the scree tread, and raked out.

We have decided to see how the soil and gravel settles in through the winter before we do anything more to the trail. Enjoy your fall riding! Final view of the day's work:
